Fabulous Food And Fun

I have just spent a lovely weekend enjoying great food and great company.  I headed to Portballintrae after work on Friday for a great night out with the girls in the lovely Bayview Hotel restaurant.  The food was gorgeous and we sat and watched the sunset through the floor to ceiling windows.  We started the night with wine in the apartment and ended it with tea, minstrels and panic room on dvd....a perfect night!

I had a luxurious lie in on Saturaday before a stroll around Portstewart and a piece of carrot cake and a cuppa overlooking the sea.  We even managed to squeeze in a trip to the cinema to see Bad Teacher before I had to get home to cook for Debbie and Conor coming round.

This has been such a full weekend and now I'm looking  forward to having the week off at home with Aimee to relax and spend some quality time together.  What is everyone else doing for holidays this year if you haven't already been away?

Feline Fun

I'm finally putting up the pics of the second dress I purchased at the sample sale before my holiday. I kept forgetting to get photos when I was wearing it but here they are.  As you will see I'm wearing my trusty black cardigan again but I thought I'd try a belt over the top of it to change it up a bit.  Mario, Vicki's cat, decided he was very photogenic so there were plenty of laughs taking these photos, and plenty of cuddles too.

Can you spot Mario?

I think this dress is my favourite. I love the layered skirt and although it's short the long sleeves balance it out.  What are your favourite items of clothing?

Manic Monday

I'm home from my wonderful holiday and back to the humdrum of work  The weather in Majorca was amazing, 26 degrees on average every day and I enjoyed many a strawberry daquiri in the glorious sun. It was a really relaxed holiday with plenty of time in the pool and on the beach for Aimee.  For anyone thinking of going to Majorca, Sa Coma is beautiful and very family friendly for those with kids.

Today was Aimee's fourth birthday so it was a mad rush when we got home to get a birthday party organised - food, decorations, party games and bags, presents....A big thanks to my mum and dad who let us have the party at their house and my sister, Debbie, for arranging the decorations and partywear and loads more.  I can't believe I have a four year old who is starting primary school in September!  I'm still tring to wrap my head round it lol

So what has everyone else been up to?  I'm hoping to get caught up with the blogging world this week and see what I've been missing.

This pony got spooked by a van and actually stomped on my big toe!  I really thought it was broken and I am ashamed to say I said a few choice words when it happened!

All the beaches were beautiful and clean and the water was so blue

This was the kids pool at our hotel and it was amazing.  Aimee loved it and the bucket on the top dumped a huge amount of water over the kids every ten minutes.  Paul had a lot of fun in there too lol

These orange trees were growing at one of the restaurants we really liked and Aimee picked one to bring back to the hotel.  We also got Aimee started on the cocktails, non-alcoholic of course:)

I have just had the loveliest weekend with Aimee .  We spent the whole weekend playing outside -  rollerskating, bouncing on the trampoline and space hopper, building sandcastles and loads of other things. Its been ages since we spent proper time together just the two of us and I really loved it.  Paul is away at a stag do and I think I might send him away more often so we can have more mummy daughter weekends lol

After being outside all day Aimee has been in bed and asleep fairly early at night which has given me time to get ready for the holiday.  I have picked out all her clothes and am in the process of ruthlessly deciding what to bring for myself and what I really don't have room for so will have to stay!  Below are a few of the definites.  My mum treated me to a few new things in M&S today (thank you mum xo) and now I'm trying to match tops with shorts and decide what shoes to bring.  Roll on next Sunday:)

Have just spent a lovely weekend catching up with friends and making the most of the gorgeous weather with another bbq.  Aimee had everyone out playing on the trampoline with her, which was great cause it tired her out nicely before bed lol

There was plenty of wedding talk as three of my girlfriends are getting married next year! June, July and November are going to be busy and full of new dresses for me if I can afford it. (and shoes and bags and....)  I did treat myself yesterday to a new ring from Matalan.  Can't complain at only £2 and its adjustable so I can wear it on most fingers.  I'm slowly building up my jewellery collection which I have to admit is pitiful.  I'm currently looking for something with navy blue in it if anyone has any suggestions?

I realised this morning that two weeks isn't really that long until my holiday so I'm frantically pulling things out my wardrobe to see what I can bring.  Why do guys get it so easy, shorts and t-shirts and they're done.  What did everyone else do this weekend?

That's my lovely husband, Paul at the bbq there.  He did a much better job of cooking than I did last week!

Decisions, Decisions...

Only 16 days until I go on holiday and I'm so excited!  Of course I'm facing the usual dilemma, do I really need a new bikini?  I have a drawer full but a holiday just doesn't seem complete without something new to make you feel good on the beach.  I want to go for something a little different this year and I've picked out a few of my favourites to see what you think.

Saying all this I'm actually going on holiday with Paul, Aimee and my in-laws and I don't know how comfortable I'll feel wearing a bikini in front of my husband's parents.  Because of this I've also been looking at swimming costumes just in case.  I'd love to get out in my bikini though to get a bit of colour and show off my tattoo.

I've been trying to be good for a few weeks so I look trim on the beach and have somehow ended up heavier than when I started!  Does anyone have any good tips on how to tone up in two weeks or cheats to make you look good on the beach?

Bottom - ombre mould triangle bikini top

Top - skirt swimsuit
Middle - ditsy print swimwear
Bottom - green twist swimwear

Top - ASOS spot moulded bikini
Bottom - ruffle swim dress

Sorry about the small pics everyone but my laptop is just not playing ball tonight.  I'm really liking the idea of a skirted swimsuit (covers a few more of the stretch marks lol)
Is anyone else having the same dilemma as me?

Hair Today Gone Tomorrow

So here are the pics of my new shorter, blonder hairdo.  What do you think?  I was going to get an all over dye but the hairdresser suggested highlights to start so I could get used to the colour change.  It has taken some people a week to notice the difference but I can see it and I'm happy.  I'm off on holiday to Majorca in a few weeks so goodness knows how light it will have gone by the time I get home.

I spent this morning helping out with the Northern Ireland Junior Taekwondo Grading.  I took up Taekwondo a year and a half ago and I love it.  Its a great way to exercise and meet new people and I like knowing I can take care of myself if I needed to.  I'm entering my first competition this summer and I'm so nervous!

I'm just about to get ready to go to a friends for a chinese, a dvd and a bottle of wine:)  What is everyone else up to this weekend?

This was the first outing for my ASOS satchel and it fitted all my rubbish in no problem.  Why is it we carry around so much we really don't need?!  Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.
