A Little Love of Mine

I thought I would share with you a little love of mine (and millions of other girls)....shoes.  I was never a big dresser before I had Aimee, it was always jeans, t-shirts and trainers!  While I still love all
these basic wardrobe staples it feels great to dress up and try new things.

Having a baby changes your body and I felt I had to start experimenting more with clothes to feel good about my new shape. It was only then I realised simply by putting on a pair of heels I could feel a million times more feminine and instantly better about myself.

I have since started collecting some rather lovely pairs, my favourites of which are below, but I am still after the perfect navy pair.  Preferably a matt leather court of some description.  If anyone knows where I can find a nice pair please leave me a comment as this is my second year of searching!

I took these pics quickly after work today so they weren't as polished as I would have liked.  I tried my hand at a bit of editing but my laptop wouldn't upload the images afterwards.

As well as my much loved collection of heels I have a good collection of flats as well.  I'll share those with you another day.

Handbags and Dustpans

How was everyone's weekend?  I am quite pleased with my accomplishments this weekend, namely buying a bag to match a wedding outfit I'm wearing  next weekend.  It may not sound like much but it has been quite a search.  I'm wearing a maxi dress in an unusual grey with a white pattern so I opted for a lovely white bag at a reasonable £12 from Dorothy Perkins.  I'll have to ask my friend Lyanne to take some photos for me as Paul hasn't got the enthusiasm to take more than 5 photos and if you're like me you need at least 30 to find a couple of decent shots!

I managed to catch up on all the washing, tidy the house and set up a tent in the dining room for Aimee and I to have a picnic lunch in:)  Paul went to a friends to watch the match on sat night so I had a glorious few hours reading, watching NCIS and stuffing my face in my pjs after Aimee was in bed.

Dress:Republic, Cardigan:Primark, Necklace:from Vicki, Ring:Ebay

These photos were taken in Hillsborough Park a few weeks ago and I just want to say a big thank you to Vicki who took them along with basically all the other photos of me on my blog.  This blog wouldn't be anything without her.

Holiday Treasures

Although we were on a tight budget when we were away  I just had to get a few wee goodies for myself.  Shop after shop had the same souvenirs so it took a while to find these lovelies.

I love owls and i just couldn't resist this little family

I like to get a magnet or two for myself whenever I'm away (owls again)

This ring is adjustable and at three euro I couldn't say no

This purse was by far my favourite buy.  Its big enough to fit all my junk and its just so pretty.

I really struggled to bring back local gifts for people because everything was very geared for tourists.  I settled on magnets in the end and a few bits and bobs for the girls (I can't say what as I keep forgetting to give Vicki her gift - I promise next time I see you I'll bring it:) Paul also felt it was necessary to buy all the guys a minature bottle of 80% absinthe!  I will definitely not be trying that.

I'm looking forward to this heat wave we are being promised.  100 mph winds ripped a tree right out our front garden yesterday!  I can't wait to actually bare my legs now they have a bit of colour.

Manic Monday

I'm home from my wonderful holiday and back to the humdrum of work  The weather in Majorca was amazing, 26 degrees on average every day and I enjoyed many a strawberry daquiri in the glorious sun. It was a really relaxed holiday with plenty of time in the pool and on the beach for Aimee.  For anyone thinking of going to Majorca, Sa Coma is beautiful and very family friendly for those with kids.

Today was Aimee's fourth birthday so it was a mad rush when we got home to get a birthday party organised - food, decorations, party games and bags, presents....A big thanks to my mum and dad who let us have the party at their house and my sister, Debbie, for arranging the decorations and partywear and loads more.  I can't believe I have a four year old who is starting primary school in September!  I'm still tring to wrap my head round it lol

So what has everyone else been up to?  I'm hoping to get caught up with the blogging world this week and see what I've been missing.

This pony got spooked by a van and actually stomped on my big toe!  I really thought it was broken and I am ashamed to say I said a few choice words when it happened!

All the beaches were beautiful and clean and the water was so blue

This was the kids pool at our hotel and it was amazing.  Aimee loved it and the bucket on the top dumped a huge amount of water over the kids every ten minutes.  Paul had a lot of fun in there too lol

These orange trees were growing at one of the restaurants we really liked and Aimee picked one to bring back to the hotel.  We also got Aimee started on the cocktails, non-alcoholic of course:)

And Off I Go....

I meant to do a post before I jetted off  to Majorca but I completely ran out of time this weekend!  I was at a wedding reception last night until nearly one and I went to see Footloose at the Grand Opera House yesterday afternoon.  It was absolutely amazing, you have to and see it.  It really made me want to get up and dance, which is what I did at the end (much to the disgust of my sister lol).  I hope you all have a good couple of weeks and I'll be back soon.

Designer Sample Sale

I had the best night on Tuesday browsing through rails upon rails of designer clothes and the great thing.....they were cost price! My bff  Vicki works as a fashion agent assistant and every season they have a sale to sell off the samples.  I spent a glorious three hours trying on a rail full of gorgeous dresses for autumn/winter and I was very pleased with the three new items I brought home:)  It would be so easy to go overboard and spend a fortune so I always have a limit (or else Paul would kill me lol).

Here are a few pics of some of the things I tried on.  One dress inparticular I tried on for fun, I'm sure you'll be able to tell which.  As fabulous as it was I just wouldn't have anywhere to wear it.

This is what I wore to the sale.  This lovely bellissima dress is from one of the lines Vicki stocks and the cardigan is good old fashion Primark.

Did you guess which dress I was talking about earlier?  I'll do a post soon and show you what I bought.  The best part about the whole night was doing all this with friends and then having a big dinner afterwards back at my house.  Nothing beats shopping with the girls.

Sunday 1 May 2011

I have just had the loveliest weekend with Aimee .  We spent the whole weekend playing outside -  rollerskating, bouncing on the trampoline and space hopper, building sandcastles and loads of other things. Its been ages since we spent proper time together just the two of us and I really loved it.  Paul is away at a stag do and I think I might send him away more often so we can have more mummy daughter weekends lol

After being outside all day Aimee has been in bed and asleep fairly early at night which has given me time to get ready for the holiday.  I have picked out all her clothes and am in the process of ruthlessly deciding what to bring for myself and what I really don't have room for so will have to stay!  Below are a few of the definites.  My mum treated me to a few new things in M&S today (thank you mum xo) and now I'm trying to match tops with shorts and decide what shoes to bring.  Roll on next Sunday:)
